Eat Your Way Down 30A

Within about 8 seconds of knowing me, it’s likely you’ll realize two things: I love the beach and I’m a huge foodie, and 30A is a great place to be a beach-loving foodie. For anyone who comes to the area frequently and is looking for something new, or even just checking it out for the first time, here is a list of my favorite restaurants around 30A!

Breakfast/Brunch:

  1. Blackbear Bread Co. (Grayton Beach, FL)

  2. Fish out of Water (Watercolor, FL)

  3. Havana Beach Bar and Grill (Rosemary Beach, FL)

  4. The Bay (Santa Rosa Beach, FL)

  5. Roux 30A (Grayton Beach, FL)

For a delicious coffee, fresh pastries, and avocado toast my go-to breakfast spot is Blackbear. They have fresh homemade pastries every day and their coffee is always delicious. I am here at least 3 times a week. Fish Out of Water is great for Sunday brunch and the view of the ocean is always a plus. Havana is located in the Pearl Hotel and has the best omelets around. The Bay is great because you can sit outside with an incredible view and enjoy a small menu that is delicious. Roux 30A has the best brunch around, make sure you book a reservation because it is always packed!

Lunch:

  1. Chiringo (Grayton Beach, FL)

  2. Chanticleer Bakery (Grayton Beach, FL)

  3. Modica Market (Seaside, FL)

  4. George’s (Alys Beach, FL)

  5. Cowgirl Kitchen (Seagrove, FL)

Chiringo is my all time favorite on 30A. Located right on the beach in Grayton you’ll be treated to beautiful views of the gulf. Perfect for a midday beach break, the fresh grouper sandwich with a side of french fries could cure your sunburn it’s so good (or at least make you think about it less.) Chanticleer has great fresh food, and do not leave without getting one of their chocolate chip cookies. As a professional chocolate chip cookie taster, I can positively say this is the #1 chocolate chip cookie on the 30A, and potentially the world. Modica is always a great stop for an easy and quick lunch. I love being able to run in and get to go food and take it down to the beach so I don’t miss any sunshine! George’s is always a good idea especially if you sit outside under the palm trees. The beach entrance closest to my house is right by Cowgirl Kitchen so I love to grab lunch here as a break from the beach!

Dinner:

  1. Caliza (Alys Beach, FL)

  2. Louis Louis (Santa Rosa Beach, FL)

  3. Paradis (Rosemary Beach, FL)

  4. Chiringo (again because it is so good!)

  5. Southside Slice (Rosemary Beach, FL)

Caliza is an absolute must if you’re looking for a more upscale beach dinner. The view of their beautifully designed pool is an appetizer itself. The menu is packed with delicious side and entrees and their drinks are all refreshing, perfect after a long day on the beach. If you’re brave enough go ahead try the whole fish for dinner (you won’t regret it!) Louis Louis is owned by the same guy who created Red Bar, but you can beat the crowds of Red Bar while enjoying a different atmosphere a little off the beaten path. The grouper and grit cake is a wonderful choice, and make sure to get dessert! It’s all homemade. Now for Paradis, you have to get the filet mignon. Have to. Look at me. Have to. I mention Chiringo again because I love it for lunch and dinner, you cannot go wrong. Southside Slice is a newer pizza shop and they have gluten free options which I love!

Dessert and Drinks:

  1. La Crema (Rosemary Beach, FL)

  2. Blue Mountain Creamery (Blue Mountain Beach, FL)

  3. Neat (Alys Beach, FL)

  4. Havana Rooftop Lounge (Rosemary Beach, FL)

  5. The Wine Bar (Watercolor, FL)

Dessert is my favorite thing in the world. I have the strongest sweet tooth and am always looking to satisfy it. Chocolate is at the core of my addictions, so the best place to start for dessert is La Crema. Indulge in the chocolate fondue or try something unique like the chocolate covered bacon. Best place ever for chocolate addicts like myself. Now for my all-time favorite dessert… Cappuccino crunch ice cream from Blue Mountain Creamery. If someone told me I could only eat one thing for the rest of my life it would be this. And finally: drinks, because I love a good cocktail. Neat is located in Alys and their specialty drinks change once a month so there are always new things to try! This place has a great ambiance and small cheese and dessert plates to pair with your drinks. When I want to be outside (pretty much always) I head over to lounge at their rooftop bar. It’s a great place to go with friends while enjoying the outdoors. Wine Bar makes the list because it has happy hour from 11am-6pm every day. Which means 12 oz. carafes of wine for the price of a single glass. This is great paired with one of their charcuterie boards and good company.
